The main campus address is at 9100 Park W Dr, Houston, TX 77063, which is near Westheimer and Fondren.

To reduce wait time and ensure that there’s no double booking, we generally do not accept walk-ins. Please call 713-780-9686 for an appointment at our main campus and any of our Houston Methodist Hospital locations.

The last appointment for new patients is 1.5 hours before closing. Returning patients should schedule at least 1 hour before closing.

Most patients indicate that it feels like a mosquito bite when the needle goes in. There should be no sensation once the needles are in place and you are resting. If you do, please let our practitioners know and they can adjust.

Customer Services

No, we do not accept insurance. However, if your insurance company pays for Acupuncture sessions, we can provide you with the super bills/ invoices after you pay for your treatment. Thereafter, you may file the invoices with your insurance company to receive a reimbursement.

If your blood pressure exceeds 160/100, we will generally recommend that you go to a Western medical facility for immediate care.

All treatments are paid for at the clinic front desk at the end of treatment. We take cash, cheque and credit card.

Masks are required for everyone entering the building. Temperatures are also taken. Once a patient leaves the treatment room, all relevant surfaces are wiped down with sanitation wipes.

You can have a small meal or appetizer before you arrive. It’s recommended that if you have a full meal, wait at least 1 hour before getting treatments. It is also preferred for you to not come in with an empty stomach.

First appointments with interns usually take 1-1.5 hours while appointments with licensed practitioners take 45 minutes. Subsequent appointments will be shorter due to all the new forms being already completed. You should expect about 30-45 min for follow ups.

When you schedule your appointment, the clinic will send you some electronic paperwork that you will need to complete prior to your visit. The first portion will focus on your medical history while the latter portion will require you to read through and sign a series of consent forms. If you are unable to complete these forms before your visit, please come to the clinic about 20-30 minutes prior to your appointment.

Sales

Treatments are $55 per visit for supervised intern treatments. Discounts available for seniors, public service workers, veterans, students and alumni.

Treatments are $80 for licensed professionals.

Aside from acupuncture, our interns may also offer cupping, moxibustion, tui-na (Oriental bodyworks) and Chinese herbs. Charges for these additional services will vary.

The clinic has over 5-10 faculty members supervising each week, which allows for case discussion and best practices.

The college clinic has been operating for over 30 years. The institution has research experience with Baylor College of Medicine, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, Houston Methodist Hospital, University of Houston, and other medical institutions, which allows the college to continuously refine its treatment protocols based on evidence and research based data.

Our clinics are only in Houston. We do have educational partners in Asia.

More than 90 conditions are treated at the ACAOM Clinic. The most common condition treated at the college clinic is pain management, women’s health, mental health, and internal medicine cases.

Yes, the most common women’s health issues include infertility, menopause, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, and others.

We do not sell herbs over the counter unless it has been prescribed by a practitioner or intern at our clinic.

Yes, herbal consultations are $20 per session. Herbal formulas that are prescribed will be a separate charge from the consultation.
